Socialist Party of Chile

The Reencounter

Thousands of people were forcibly disappeared during the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet Ugarte. The only thing they left was a black-and-white photograph that became an icon of the fight for human rights in Chile. With the help of these photographs and their relatives' memories, we brought them back to life.

“The Reencounter” is a photographic project by the Chilean Socialist Party that invites you to reflect and open a conversation about human rights and our history.
